Design House Office

Dialogue with Heritage

The Vision

The Design House Office was conceived as both a workspace and a spatial expression of the studio’s design philosophy and located in Akaretler, within a building defined by its strong historical and neoclassical character. The project set out to establish a clear relationship between architectural heritage and contemporary working life.

The aim was to create an environment that supports focus and productivity while maintaining warmth, character, and restraint.

The Composition

The interior layout was organized in response to the proportions and rhythm of the existing architectural shell. Rather than imposing rigid divisions, the space was structured to remain open and legible, supporting both individual work and shared interaction.

Circulation was refined to strengthen common areas and ensure a calm, uninterrupted flow throughout the office.

The Materiality

Material choices were central to expressing both the building's and the studio's identities.

Deep red and amber tones were paired with oak and marble surfaces to create warmth and permanence. Brass details were applied with precision, introducing a refined accent that connects the interior through consistent proportions and finishes.

Textured wallpapers and classic lighting elements reference the historical context, while contemporary workstations and storage solutions respond directly to the practical needs of daily use. Fixed furniture was custom-designed to align with both the architectural framework and the studio’s working habits.

The Atmosphere

The Design House Office is defined by clarity and balance. The completed space feels calm yet expressive, structured yet inviting. Rooted in context and shaped by use, the office reflects the studio’s commitment to material integrity, thoughtful composition, and enduring design values.
